Are freckles and skin cancer related?

No, the two are not directly related, but caution is advised. Freckles themselves are harmless. Freckles are small brown spots that can be found anywhere on the body, typically the face and arms. Although freckles are generally genetic, new freckles may appear if your skin is exposed to a lot of sunlight. Do not be alarmed if additional freckles appear after a weekend at the beach, it just means you freckle easily. Easy freckling typically happens to people with red hair or fair skin.

Although the freckles themselves are not a threat, having them means you should be more careful when in the sunlight. If you freckle easily, you may be more prone to skin cancer. You can still enjoy a nice weekend at the beach with your friends and family, just be sure to use a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.

The older we get the more prevalent age and brown spots become. However they're not there just because we are getting older, they are usually there because of things that we have done in the past.

Most age and brown spots are caused by over exposure to the sun. When we're young our skin is supple and it's fun to get a suntan. We feel like it just makes us look healthier. However, too much time in the sun causes the melanin in our skin to increase. That is the reason that we get a tan.

This becomes an issue as we get older because this melanin will tend to concentrate in a few places. Wear this concentration occurs we develop an age or brown spot. There are other factors that contribute to the age and brown spots, including the environment, but the main issue is over exposure to the sun.

There are many treatments available to help in eliminating or reducing the age spots on our skin. These treatments range from inexpensive over the counter creams and salves, to very expensive in office treatments from dermatologists.

The more expensive treatments from dermatologist such as laser, will work to remove the spots. The problem with these treatments is that they are expensive, harsh and will not prevent new age spots from appearing. So to keep your skin spot-free will probably require ongoing treatments from time to time.

The good news is that you can rid yourself of age and brown spots safely and permanently. You need to find a cream or salve that reduces the melanin content in your skin. Reducing the melanin in your skin will allow the existing spots to go away keep the spots from forming.

You need to make sure that the cream or salve that you select contains natural ingredients and nothing that will damage your skin. There are several ingredients that you should look for in this cream or salve.

Extrapone Nutgrass (cyperus rotundus) is a made a small plant frequently used in Asia and throughout Europe. Research has shown that use of Extrapone Nutgrass reduces melanin production by as much or as 41%.

Many people have used it and report a significant reduction in age and brown spots after only a few weeks of use. Extrapone Nutgrass can be safely mixed with other anti-aging ingredients in a cream or salve.

Grapeseed Oil helps our skin in many different ways. It contains essential fatty acids that help to keep our skin moist and prevent wrinkles. But more importantly it is loaded with antioxidants that help fight and repair free radical damage to our skin. The antioxidants will help bring back the youthful look to our skin.

The third ingredient you should look for is Phytessence Wakame. This is an exotic kelp that has been used for years in Japan as not only a food source but also to promote healthier skin.

Studies have shown that Phytessence Wakame blocks an enzymatic reaction that causes a breakdown in your skin's natural protein. It is a little bit more detailed then this, but suffice it to say that this ingredient will help lighten your skin.

So look for those three ingredients in a cream or salve and lose your age and brown spots forever.
